In the Candu editor, you have the option to 'Publish' your content, which can mean a few different things depending on the status of your content.

  • Candu is not installed within your application = the Publish button will simply update your content with any changes that you have made. You can Preview all changes using the Chrome Extension.

  • Candu is installed within your application but no content is Embedded: the Publish button will simply update your content with any changes that you have made. You can use the Chrome Extension to Embed content and make it live to your users.

  • Candu is installed within your application and content is Embedded: the Publish button will push any updates or changes you have made to your content live to your users.

Publishing Live Content

You can Publish content using the button in the upper right-hand corner of the Editor. You will see all of your connected Segments listed out. You can publish to all of your connected Segments simultaneously by clicking 'Publish to X Segment', or you can select Segments individually if you're not ready to publish content to all of them.

Once you hit Publish, your content will only go live to your users if you have installed and Embedded Candu content within your application. Otherwise, you will be able to simply Preview content.

Use the publish button to update existing content or indicate that content is ready to be emedded live within an application

Once content has been Published, it will have a green status indicator to show there are no pending changes or updates that have not been published.

a green status indicator will show there are no pending changes to be published

Updating Live Content

Once you have 'Embedded Content' within your application, you can make edits to this content at any time. Users will not see the changes you make until you hit 'Publish' again in the Editor. This means you do not need a developers help to push changes live to your users.

Navigate to your live content and you will be able to see the changes that you have made live!

When you go to publish updates, you will see that each connected Segment has one of three colored dots beside it:

  • Grey: the content has never been published

  • Orange: the content has been updated since it was last published

  • Green: the current content is published and there are no pending changes
