When testing your Candu content after making changes, your browser's cache can prevent you from seeing updates immediately. A cache-free refresh forces your browser to download the latest version of your page and all resources, ensuring you see your most recent changes.

When to use cache-free refresh

Use this technique when:

  • Testing tours, banners, or other content after making edits in Candu

  • Verifying styling or content updates

  • Troubleshooting display issues that might be cache-related

How to perform a cache-free refresh

Quick method (without Developer Tools)

The fastest way to perform a hard refresh:

  • Windows: Ctrl + F5 or Ctrl + Shift + R

  • Mac (Chrome/Edge/Firefox): Cmd + Shift + R

  • Mac (Safari): Hold Shift and click the refresh button, or Cmd + Option + R

Persistent method (with Developer Tools)

For iterative testing where you're making multiple changes, you can keep the cache disabled.

Open Developer Tools:

  • Windows: F12 or Ctrl + Shift + I

  • Mac: Cmd + Option + I

  1. Navigate to the Network tab

  2. Check "Disable cache"

  3. Refresh the page

The cache will remain disabled for all subsequent page loads as long as Developer Tools stay open. You can minimize the panel if it's in the way.

Clear all cache if issues persist: If you're still seeing old content, clear your browser's entire cache:

  • Chrome/Edge: Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + Delete, then select "Cached images and files"

  • Firefox: Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + Delete, then select "Cache"

  • Safari: Cmd + Option + E (or Safari > Settings > Privacy > Manage Website Data)
