Copy content between workspaces (staging to production)

Copy finished content from one workspace to another, for example from staging to production.

Written by Jonathan Anderson

You can copy content from one workspace into another, for example to build and test in staging, then move finished pieces to production. Every copy arrives as an unpublished draft, so nothing goes live until you publish it.

Copy with the assistant (recommended)

  1. Open the piece in the workspace you're copying from, go to Settings, and ask the assistant to copy it to another workspace (or use Copy content to a workspace on Settings > Workspaces).

  2. Pick the destination. The assistant collects everything the piece depends on into a short plan.

  3. Switch to the destination with the workspace picker and paste the plan back into the chat.

  4. Review the segment form: map each segment to an existing one, create it with the same rules, or use Everyone.

  5. The assistant copies the piece as an Off draft, recreates its placement, and gives you a short checklist of anything to reconnect (tour buttons, embeds, conditional blocks).

  6. Make those fixes in the editor and reply "done". The assistant checks them for you.

Copy one piece manually

  1. In the destination workspace, open any piece of content

  2. Click the gear icon and select Import content

  3. Select the source content from the other workspace

  4. Remap each segment and click Import

  5. Save your changes

Note: Copying doesn't bring segments, placements or links to other content with it. After copying, review:

  • Conditional blocks

  • Embeds

  • Triggers

  • Placements (where the content shows) and editor previews

Moving a big release, or stuck? Use Get help from our team on Settings > Workspaces, or message us in chat, and we'll help you copy it.
