How Migrating to Candu Works

We know that changing digital adoption platforms (DAP) can feel overwhelming and requires a decent amount of work, but we strive to make this process as smooth and straightforward for you as possible!

This guide outlines what you can expect from us and what we need from you to ensure we can successfully migrate your existing DAP to Candu.

Welcome! We are excited to be working with you! πŸ€—

What You Can Expect from Us

Please note the below is applicable for Growth and Enterprise plans.

  • All your Experiences built for you: Our team will create replicas of your current experiences within Candu regardless of what tool you are migrating from. If an exact replication isn't feasible, we will propose alternative solutions (that might look even better πŸ˜‰).

  • New UX Proposals: If you are open to new UX, such as using inline content, we can propose suggestions for you to review.

  • Template Creation: If you have experiences you use regularly, like a feature launch modal each month, we can turn these into custom templates so your team can quickly create and edit new versions as needed.

  • Enablement Sessions: We will provide training sessions to ensure you feel confident creating new experiences and managing your existing ones in Candu.

  • Comprehensive Support: Our support channels include Slack, chat, email, and self-serve help guides. Additionally, we offer one-to-one Zoom calls as needed. We are very contactable πŸ˜„.

  • Inspiration and Best Practices: Access to use case inspiration, best practices, and best-in-class templates to enhance your digital adoption strategy.

  • Timeline and Proposals: Based on the volume of experiences, we will provide you with a clear timeline for how long recreating your experiences will take.

What We Need from You

1. Creating Candu Content

  • List of Experiences: Please provide us with a list of all the experiences that you want us to recreate from your existing tool by filling out this content spreadsheet. Please include all assets (like images & GIFs), URLs, and video links.

πŸ‘‰ Pro Tip - Migrating tools offers an opportunity to review your current live experiences and determine whether they add meaningful impact to your user experience. Review your engagement analytics to see if it's worth migrating over.

  • DAP Account Access: If possible, invite us to your existing DAP account to easily access your existing content and save you from adding more information to the spreadsheet.

  • Custom Styles: We will set up your styles and design system. If you have a custom font, we will ask you for the CSS file/URL if you are hosting it.

  • Segment Details: Share the details of the required segments/audiences for each experience. Please note we can only set up targeting once you have sent us User Traits (see below).

  • Exclusion Lists: We may need to create lists of users who should be excluded from certain content based on their previous interactions with your existing DAP experiences. For example, if you have a new feature announcement Modal that you wish to keep live, you may want to exclude users who have already dismissed or interacted with it.

2. Installing Candu

For detailed technical instructions, please refer to our Developer Docs.

  • Technical Support: Ensure you have technical resources available to handle the initial installation and supporting tasks.

  • JavaScript Snippet: Install Candu in the header of your product using our JavaScript snippet.

  • Data Integration: Send data into Candu for segmentation via the JS snippet, API, or an integration like Segment.com.

Migration Best Practice

1. Time Buffer: Make sure you leave enough time between your old contract ending and your new one starting. Give yourself a time buffer (there will always be something that takes longer than expected!). Access to existing data and content is key to a successful migration, so there needs to be some overlap between tools. The amount of overlap you need depends on the volume of live experiences you haveβ€”we are happy to advise you on this!

2. Lean on us: We have helped many customers migrate over, and we are here to support you throughout this process

3. Internal Alignment: Keep your internal teams aligned with internal enablement sessions. Please show them your revamped content in Candu, outline new workflows for launching new experiences, and focus on the benefits of the new features you have gained by migrating. Our inline feature set will undoubtedly open up many more use cases for the team to collaborate and experiment with!
